1/9/14

Six of Wands reversed/Two of Cups.  The Six of Wands (Jupiter, expansiveness and growth, justice, fortune, in Leo, “I am,” passionate, dramatic, noble, authoritative) in an upright position expresses the celebration we feel when we have passed some test or successfully met a challenge. My Six of Wands is reversed today, and perhaps there will be some difficulty as far as receiving recognition.  Maybe this card is reversed because I am to offer recognition to others?  Hmmm . . . could be. The Two of Cups (Venus, beauty, allure, relationships, in Cancer, “I feel,” sensitive, family and home oriented, tenacious, moody) tells of about love and connections, usually having to do with feelings, relationships and commonalities, and a recognition or acknowledgement that a bond is beginning to happen, or is beginning to be restored after forgiveness is offered and received.  Commonalities and affinities, and pleasurable connections, can be used today as fuel to make things happen in a good way.  The Llewellyn Welsh Two of Cups image contains the traditional Caduceus of Hermes (the Messenger of the Greek Gods, guide of the dead and protector of merchants, gamblers, liars and thieves), with a lion (representing strength, courage, authority over the subconscious, sound judgment and prudence) between the wings at the top.  The Caduceus of Hermes or Staff of Hermes shows a staff being climbed by two serpents (representing peace, rebirth, restoration and regeneration) entwined in the form of a double helix, and sometimes surmounted by wings.  The Roman version of Hermes is Mercury, and so the Caduceus of Hermes can be used to represent both the planet Mercury, and the elemental metal of the same name; thus, the Two of Cups is connected to alchemy.  By the way, the Caduceus of Hermes is **not** the accepted symbol for medicine; that is the Rod of Asclepius, which has only a single snake and no wings.

My Thoth cards are The Universe reversed and the Nine of Wands (“Strength”).  The Universe/World, which corresponds with Earth (cold/binds and dry/shapes, and material, stable and practical energy that is slow to change), Saturn (discipline, responsibility, limitations and resistance), Thav (mark or sign), and the Path between Malkuth (the physical world of action and physical, outer reality) and Yesod (the place where patterns and images emerge that may manifest into the physical world) is a card of integration and involvement and understanding, a crystallization of the entire issue at hand.  The one uncomfortable thing about this card is the possibility for inertia to take hold; because my Universe is reversed, I will need to be careful that does not happen.  Strive to attain completion, don’t give up! The Nine of Wands (Moon, feelings and emotions, illusion, imagination, in Sagittarius, “I seek,” philosophic, fun-loving, adventurous, blundering) tells us that the final challenge approaches, and we need to ready ourselves.  Crowley calls this one “Strength,” and he feels its energies best represent the idea that change is stability, and stability needs change in order to exist.

My Legacy card is the Five of Cups reversed, flavored by The Moon.  The Five of Cups (Mars, action, aggression, drive, in Scorpio, “I desire,” intense, controlling, mysterious, obsessive) in an upright position tells of an emotional setback or disappointment, or perhaps the belief that a wrong choice has been made.  My card is reversed and I think I will be able to prevent myself from obsessing over what I believe I have lost. My reversed Five of Cups is being flavored by a card that has been showing up of late, The Moon.  The Moon of the Tarot Major Arcana corresponds with Water (cold/binds and wet/adapts, emotional and sensitive energy that strives to stay the same), Pisces (“I believe,” feeling, suffering, soul growth, duality), Qof (the back of the head), and the Path between Malkuth (the physical world of action and physical, outer reality) and Netzach (the stimulating factors of emotion and inspiration), is about feelings and emotions and instincts and the subconscious.  This card tells of falsehood and illusion and the Dark Night of Soul, but it is also about magick and mystery.  Better to focus on that magick and mystery, and allow any disappointments that appear to just softly fade away into the moonlight.

My 6-digit date number is 6, the number of vertical and horizontal balance.

My horoscopes: “You should be looking especially attractive today, Sagittarius, but you may feel that it's wasted because your beloved isn't around to appreciate it. Cheer up! It will only be for a few days, and you'll still look pretty good by then. Try to keep yourself busy, preferably doing something you love to do, so your enthusiasm will enhance your good looks. Your friend won't be away forever. It only seems that way.”

And: “Today, you might feel a little bit lost. Indeed, you are used to taking matters in your own hands. You compulsively give advice to people around you. But today, you are the one who needs help. You might need to go far away to get things straightened out. Today might be the right day to plan a vacation.”

Today is the first day in a long time that I have felt an un-looked for connection to the Divine.  Without actively seeking Her, my Patroness has been showering me with lovely energy today, since I first got up this morning.  It has been a long time since this has happened; perhaps as Saturn moves out of my sun sign and as I come back to a healthy lifestyle after the excesses of the holidays, conduits are opening once again.  I could feel those umbilical cords running from my crown, third eye and sacral chakras pulsing with life; can a Cosmic Download be far behind??
