Transparent Oracle Sunday!

5, Landscape: Mountains (East). East is the direction of the rising sun, and thus of new beginnings and fresh ideas, as well as knowledge, intellectual ideas and thoughts.  Mountains tells us that our goals are in sight, but there will still need to be strength, skill and perseverance before accessing that goal.  Mountains also allow us to rise up above the chaos, confusion and noise of our mundane world in order to experience peace and solitude.  This card tells me that I’ve got a good strong foundation in place, and now it is time to look forward and up.

37, Guide: Raven (North). North is the direction of Earth, and thus of the physical or physically formed or manifested world, and of nurturing, health, finances and security, and the wisdom associated with living simply, being well-grounded, and being in touch with our physical body.  Raven is a clever bird, often portrayed as a trickster.  Raven is also known for assisting us in the transformation from one realm to another, and known as a skilled communicator.

56, Grail Hollows: The Cauldron (Below).  The direction of Below is not easily associated with spirituality, yet it is a powerful symbol representing the opportunity to create a strong foundation, and to connect to the tools and powers of the Underworld.  The Grail Hollows are ancient treasures deeply connected to each of the four elements, guarded throughout time by the Tuatha de Danaan.  The Cauldron corresponds with the element of Water, and thus, with feelings, emotions, intuition, nourishment and healing, all necessary for the balance and harmony of the Self.  Within Wicca, The Cauldron is also seen as a representation of the Sacred Feminine, the Goddess, and Her fertile womb.

I then stacked my cards and created my mandala.  The first two cards, Mountain and Raven, fit together as if they were meant for each other.  Each of the Raven’s heads fits into each of the three loops of Mountain.  While the three Ravens’ beaks meet in the center, it is The Cauldron that seems to really join them with strength.  Mountains are powerful representations of goals, and of perspective.  When far away, we can block a Mountain from our view with one finger, but when we are at the feet of the Mountain, we often cannot see its summit.  Raven can get us there, though, and teach us how to perceive the lesson.  The Goddess will be the beautiful ribbon that laces it all together.  Yess!!  I get it.

Awesome YTT Intensive number 7, which includes almost two hours of teaching by the Rev. Jaganath Carrera, the author of “Inside the Yoga Sutras.”  What a wise and awesome man, a man who conveys such wisdom yet insists he is merely the conduit; it is the teachings he shares that are worth so much.  Perhaps it is this amazing humility that makes Rev. Jaganath and the message he shared so very real to me.
