Four of Cups reversed/Ace of Cups.  The Four of Cups (the Moon, feelings and emotions, illusion, imagination, in Cancer, “I feel,” sensitive, nurturing, tenacious, moody) tells us that too much pleasure deadens the senses.  Upright, this card can tell of apathy that happens due to the dulling of the senses, or it can tell of self-absorption that might become dangerously intense.  Thankfully, my Four of Cups is reversed, so this lethargy or dangerous self-absorption should be fading away.  The Ace of Cups (Libra, “We are,” partnerships, balance, cooperation, Scorpio, “I desire,” intense, deep, mysterious, obsessive, Sagittarius, “I seek,” philosophic, fun-loving, adventurous, blundering) tells of the potentials available to me for experiencing deep emotions, a connection to my Inner Voice, compassion for myself or others, attunements and connections.  This card pairs up nicely with the reversed Four of Cups, and it encourages me to take the pre-emptive step of connecting in a deeper way to my emotions and feelings, rather than being passive about them.

My Thoth card is the Ace of Cups.  How’s that for validation?!  “Love” is Crowley’s keyword for the Ace of Cups (Libra, “We are,” partnerships, balance, cooperation, Scorpio, “I desire,” intense, deep, mysterious, obsessive, Sagittarius, “I seek,” philosophic, fun-loving, adventurous, blundering), and he sees this card as representing potential only, without any manifestation of yet.  This card represents the seeds of the element of Water and its effects, and not the actual manifested element itself.  But Crowley is not by any means putting this card down or belittling its power; after all, he calls it “Love” and sees it as the representation of the Holy Grail, and of a sacrifice made in the name of love.

My Legacy card is the Page of Wands, flavored by Strength.  Another incredibly powerful pair!  Wands are about Fire, and the Page of Wands (Cancer, “I feel,” sensitive, tenacious, nurturing, moody; Leo, “I am,” passionate, dramatic noble egotistical; and Virgo, “I serve,” practical, analytical, work and service oriented) is the spark that might end up creating a conflagration.  However, Fire is an element that can rage out of control if we loose our focus for even a moment, but that is taken care of by the card flavoring my Page of Wands, Strength.  The Strength card (Fire, hot/separates and dry/shapes, and spontaneous, impulsive and energetic energy; Leo, “I am,” passionate, dramatic, egotistical; Teth, sieve or basket, digestion; and the Path between Geburah, the place where forms and structures are challenged or affirmed, and Chesed, the place where forms and structures are stabilized and nurtured) is about having the strength to endure and focus; and we are to use this focus and endurance to tame and control quite powerful emotions and feelings.  However, there is one difference between Strength and The Chariot, another card about strength of will; Strength brings the concept of compassion into the picture, and the use of a soft control, rather than a hard control.

My 6-digit date number is 9, the number of completeness of effect and manifestation.

My horoscopes: “It isn't a good idea to talk behind other people's backs today, Sagittarius. If you have an issue with someone in particular, bring it up to that person directly. This isn't a good time to gossip. Maintaining trust is extremely important right now. This attitude will open many doors for you. Believe that the more you love others, the more love will be returned to you.

And: “An unexpected invitation from a friend, could have you jumping in the car today and taking a short trip, perhaps to meet or visit that person. Conversations with this person and with other friends and acquaintances should prove interesting and enlightening today - and a part of you may be changed forever for the better. New interests may come your way, perhaps humanitarian in nature. A busy but satisfying day.

My Shadowscapes Insight is regarding the Knight of Swords.  This Knight is daring and brave, and easily aroused to heroism.  He does not allow emotions to come between him and his goal, and lies, the spinning or clouding of an issue, or disassembling are not part of him.  He is a Seeker, a light that pierces the darkest of nights.

Onward; today we talk about Uranus.  Uranus is the modern ruler of the zodiac sign Aquarius, and the Eleventh House (more about the Houses later). Uranus: genius, out-of-the-box thinking or surpises, and artistic creativity,

In Greek mythology, Uranus is the personification of the heavens and the night sky. The planet itself is very unusual among the planets because it rotates on its side, presenting each of its poles to the Sun during its orbit, and causing each of the hemispheres to alternately be lit by the sun or hidden in total darkness.  Uranus takes 84 years to orbit the Sun, spending about 7 years in each sign; the planet was only discovered in 1781 by Sir William Herschel.

Astrologically modern interpretations associate Uranus with the principles of genius, individuality, thinking out of the box, new and unconventional ideas, discoveries, artistic creativity, electricity, inventions, and the beginnings of the industrial revolution. Uranus governs societies, clubs, freedom, originality, radical ideas, revolutions, and any group dedicated to humanitarian or progressive ideals.

In medicine, Uranus is associated with the sympathetic nervous system, mental disorders, breakdowns and hysteria, spasms, and cramps.

Uranus is the first planet beyond Saturn, and is not visible with the naked eye.  Thus it is connected with intuition, with being a free spirit, and with the joining of the personal consciousness to the collective consciousness and the group mind.  Saturn is about restrictions and laws, but Uranus and its sideways presentation breaks all the rules.

Uranus is also considered a higher version of Mercury, which is more about the conscious mind.  You could say that Mercury knows why it knows, but Uranus, working through intuition, only knows that it knows.

Because Uranus rules Aquarius, it has been instrumental in helping to bring in the Aquarian Age.  Each time the spring equinox enters a new constellation, a new great age begins; this happens about every 2,100 years.  We are making the transition from the Age of Pisces to the Age of Aquarius, and this is quite apparent in our world since the middle of the 20th century.

How cool is that?!  Uranus is a hippie child!
