The High Priestess/Page of Wands reversed. The High Priestess (Water; the Moon, feelings and emotions, illusion, imagination; Gimel, the camel who safely crosses Da’ath, the Abyss, and thus, has the secret of life; and the Path between Tiphareth, the hub of the creation process where energies harmonize and focus to illuminate and clarify, and Kether, the source, limitless possibility), is the source of the power of The Magician, the feminine version of The Hierophant, and the Keeper of the Mysteries.  She is one half of the Major Arcana representation of the Sacred Feminine, all about those hidden mysteries that are so intense to experience yet so difficult to explain to another.  She could also be here to remind me that the Shadow needs to be taken care of just as much as the mind and the physical body.  The Page of Wands (Cancer, “I feel,” sensitive, tenacious, nurturing, moody; Leo, “I am,” passionate, dramatic noble egotistical; and Virgo, “I serve,” practical, analytical, work and service oriented) in an upright position would be encouraging me to use assertion and action to attract adventure and excitement.  My Page is reversed, however, and in a way that makes sense.  Adventure and excitement are outer-focused experiences, and the message of The High Priestess must be approached in a less dramatic way, yet equally powerful.

My Thoth card is the Six of Disks reversed.  “Success,” at least with a physical-world focus, may not appear in a traditional way today.  The Six of Disks (Moon, feelings and emotions, illusion, imagination, in Taurus, “I have,” Sensual, cautious, stubborn) brings an awareness of resources to the situation, or a lack thereof.  Crowley views this card in his typical dark way, reminding us that while his keyword is Success, anything associated with this card is temporary.

My Legacy card is the Eight of Coins reversed, flavored by The Empress.  Wow! The Eight of Coins (Sun, the inner core of a person or situation, in Virgo, “I serve,” practical, analytical, sensible, orderly) in an upright position is about taking care of details, working hard, and studying or learning new things, but my card is reversed, so I am being told that today may not be about the details.  The Empress (which corresponds with Earth (cold/binds and dry/shapes, and stable, material, practical energies that are slow to change), Venus (beauty, allure, pleasure, relationships), Daleth (door or womb) and the Path between Binah (female receptive energy and the origin of form and structure) and Chokmah (dynamic male energy and the origin of vital force and polarity)) is the other half of the Major Arcana representation of the Sacred Feminine.  She is about creativity, and about fertility of all kinds, a deep connection to Nature and its workings, and the pleasure of the senses; she is not about details!  The Empress certainly is reinforcing my reversed Eight of Coins, seeming to tell me that I’ve been working hard, so I should enjoy my day today, and take care of the details tomorrow.  Okay!

My 6-digit date number is 3, the number of new creation out of the potential and position of the Ace, and the balance, polarity and “distance between” of the two.

My horoscopes: “If the doorknob doesn't want to turn today, Sagittarius, don't force it. You'll only succeed in breaking the key. Perhaps you just need to try another door. If things don't flow smoothly into place, then they probably weren't meant to be. Life shouldn't have to be a struggle. Our job is to be happy. Remember that the next time you're in a long line. View the situation as a rest period.

And: “Give your loved ones the attention they need today. Don't let another day go by without telling them that you love them. Life is short and getting shorter with each passing day. Feel free to be confrontational about a serious issue that needs to be addressed. You are responsible for your own feelings. Do not play the role of the victim. You will only experience more pain and resentment later on.

My Shadowscapes Insight is regarding the Knight of Pentacles.  He may not be quick and daring, but this Knight always gets the job done.  He prefers to use tactics that have worked for him before, and he always takes the time to carefully assess any situation so he can choose the correct action.  Not much can distract him, once he gets going!

This is a holiday week; the 4th of July is Wednesday, and we will be watching the fireworks, as usual, from Congress Hall.  I will do my best to post my cards each day, but may not post much else.

Enjoy the holiday!!
