2/4/14

Nine of Cups/Ten of Wands reversed. The Nine of Cups (Jupiter, expansiveness and growth, justice, fortune, in Pisces, “I believe,” feelings, duality, suffering, soul growth) is about emotional satisfaction and the ability to find pleasure in feelings and emotions, and in our expectations for the day.  This card is about getting what you wished for, but it reminds us that we need to be detailed in our visualizations if we want to receive exactly what we are wishing for.  The Ten of Wands (Saturn, discipline, responsibility, limitations and resistance, in Sagittarius, “I seek,” philosophic, fun-loving, blundering) in an upright position tells of being taxed to some perceived limit, or of feeling as if we are out of gas at the bottom of a hill.  Since Wands are connected with Fire, this could very well indicate a passion that has started in a beneficial way but has grown out of control; another reference to too much enthusiasm.  Because my Wands card is reversed, I need to remember that perhaps I am the only one who feels these burdents are mine to carry.  This is not a life-or-death situation, and maybe I need to chill a bit.

My Thoth cards are the Ace of Swords reversed and The Lovers.  Nice! The Ace of Swords (Capricorn, “I build,” ambition, caution authority, cunning, Aquarius and Pisces, “I believe,” feeling, duality, soul growth, artistic) tells of the birth of ideas and concepts.  The Ace of Swords tells of consciousness and the beginning of the awareness of “self,” and also the beginning of an uprising of a potent mental force or ability. My Ace of Swords is reversed, and there could be some influences that are derailing any attempt to analyze.  The Lovers (Air, hot/separates and wet/adapts, quick and animated, intellectual, problems or challenges; Gemini, “I think,” curious, talkative, sociable, dual; Zayin, double-edged sword; and the Path between Tiphareth, the hub of the creation process where energies harmonize and focus to illuminate and clarify, and Binah, female receptive energy and the origin of form and structure) tells of duality, union, completion, and personal choices.  This card is about love, but it is also about our personal values and how they affect our choices, and the promises we make to others.  The Lovers present the two halves that when united are greater than the sum of their parts, and perhaps today I don’t need to think about the “how” and “why” of this.  Maybe I just need to enjoy the fulfillment of this kind of union.

My Legacy card is the Three of Swords reversed (whew!), flavored by The Sun.  Oh-kay then. The Three of Swords (Saturn, discipline, responsibility, limitations and resistance, in Libra, “We are,” partnerships, balance, cooperation), my least favorite card in the entire deck, in an upright position usually indicates the possibility that logic, rationalizing and the intellect could end up causing harm if they are not used with balance and compassion. My Three of Swords is reversed, and I am being reminded that the discomfort associated with this card is more mental than emotional.  I can control this.  My reversed Three of Swords is being flavored by The Sun.  The Sun corresponds with Fire (hot/separates and dry/shapes, spontaneous, impulsive and energetic change), our Sun (the inner core of a person or situation), Resh (the face; reason), and the Path between Yesod (the place where patterns and images emerge that may manifest in the physical world) and Hod (provides analysis and communication), and it tells of a time of enlightenment and peace that comes after the completion of some ordeal.  A few clouds?  No worries; I will enjoy the shade and then bask in the sunlight.

My 6-digit date number is 11 (Archangel Uriel), which reduces to 2, the number of balance, polarity, and the energy of “distance between.”

My horoscopes: “Emotions run high today as a love partner calls on you to discuss some troubles, Sagittarius. These don't directly concern you, but you’d still like to see them straightened out, as you tend to feel helpless when someone you care for is upset. At times like this, it's really best to listen rather than try to give advice. Your partner probably just needs to talk it out. Be patient and all will be well.”

And: “You may feel like something or someone is trying to hold you back from your fun today. If this is the case, don't push it, and certainly don't whine about it. No one likes to hear a complainer. Take this sober feeling as a message from the cosmos that you should slow down and be more thoughtful and methodical in your approach. Set your goals, make a weekly timeline, and stick to it.
