Seven of Cups/Strength. The Seven of Cups (Venus, beauty, allure, relationships, pleasure, in Scorpio, “I desire,” intense, controlling obsessive) presents the possibility of potential-filled yet dangerous choices, and the card is telling me that some important information may be hidden from me, so I should do my homework before I make my choices, and be alert. The Strength card (Fire, hot/separates and dry/shapes; and spontaneous, impulsive and energetic change; Leo, “I am,” passionate, dramatic, noble, selfish; Teth, sieve or basket, digestion; and the Path between Geburah, the place where forms and structures are challenged or affirmed, and Binah, female receptive energy and the origin of form and structure) represents the soft control of an open hand. Inner strength, or Will, might be a necessary ingredient in any successful choices to be made today.

My Thoth card is the Five of Cups reversed. “Disappointment” reversed; in an upright position, the Five of Cups (Mars, action, aggression, drive, in Scorpio, “I desire,” intense, controlling, mysterious, obsessive) tells of the cloudy sludge that is stirred up when still waters are disturbed. Because the card is reversed, I just may get the pleasure I expect to receive.

My Legacy card is the Three of Cups, flavored by The Hermit. I had the Three of Cups (Mercury, reason, intelligence, orderliness, communication, in Cancer, “I feel,” sensitive tenacious, nurturing, moody) yesterday, too, so I am still being told that emotional abundance and support are a part of the day. However, The Hermit (Earth, cold/binds and dry/shapes, and stable, material and practical energy that is slow to change; Virgo, “I serve,” practical, work and service oriented, practical; Yod, open hand, touch; and the Path between Tiphareth, the hub of the creation process where energies harmonize and focus to illuminate and clarify, and Chesed, which crosses Da’ath, the place where forms and structures are stabilized and nurtured) is reminding me that the journey is the goal, the journey is the important part of it all, not the destination.

My 6-digit date number is 5, which tells of movement that destroys stability, and thus, stagnation.

My horoscopes: Communication with others could be extremely rewarding, Sagittarius, especially later in the day. Project more of your energy outward and join others in projects that you might otherwise try to tackle on your own. Things should flow smoothly as long as you take a lighthearted, optimistic approach. Move forward with projects instead of just contemplating their completion.”

And “You're not known for doing anything 'just a little.' As far as the rest of the world is concerned, that pertains mostly to fun things, but in truth, you can't even do the more serious things 'just a little,' either. So at this particular moment, while some folks might feel a tinge of conscience, if you don't know how to stop it you'll feel a very big pang of guilt. Don't let that happen. Forget about the past. Look to the future, and think in great big, positive terms. That's always your sign's best bet.”

And: “Today is your day, and you can do no wrong. Your spirits will be high, and you shouldn't feel guilty about spending a bit of extra money at the mall. Declare game night at your house: invite your best friends over and have them bring their favorite games. In short, have fun today in whatever you do. There is absolutely no reason not to.”

Right after I completed my chant to Hecate just before sunset, a huge and intense rainbow filled the Eastern sky! The last rays of the setting sun created the most beautiful sight! I did a little research on rainbows, and found out that what I saw was a bit rare, a supernumerary rainbow. A supernumerary rainbow, also known as a stacker rainbow, is an infrequent phenomenon, consisting of several faint rainbows on the inner side of the primary rainbow, and very rarely also outside the secondary rainbow. Supernumerary rainbows are slightly detached and have pastel color bands that do not fit the usual pattern. They are incredibly bright, and they really don’t look like the usual rainbow, with their pastel colors.

The cool thing about supernumerary rainbows is that they are actually an indication of the wave nature of light. LOL, don’t get me started on quantum theory.

Here is a little bit more about rainbows, mainly from Wikipedia. The rainbow has a place in legend owing to its beauty and the historical difficulty in explaining the phenomenon. In Greek mythology, the rainbow was considered to be a path made by a messenger between Earth and Heaven. In Chinese mythology, the rainbow was a slit in the sky sealed by goddess Nuwa using stones of five different colors. In Hindu mythology, the rainbow is called Indradhanush, meaning “the bow of Indra, the god of lightning, thunder and rain.” Another Indian mythology says the rainbow is the bow of Rama, the incarnation of Vishnu. It is called Ramdhonu in Bengali, dhonu (dhanush) meaning bow. Likewise, in mythology of Arabian Peninsula, the rainbow, called Qaus Quzaħ in Arabic, is the war bow of the god Quzaħ.

In Norse mythology, a rainbow called the Bifrost Bridge connects the realms of Asgard and Midgard, homes of the gods and humans, respectively. The Irish leprechaun’s secret hiding place for his pot of gold is usually said to be at the end of the rainbow. This place is impossible to reach, because the rainbow is an optical effect that depends on the location of the viewer. When walking towards the end of a rainbow, it will appear to “move” further away (two people who simultaneously observe a rainbow at different locations will disagree about where a rainbow is located, and that is very cool!). According to Christianity and Judaism, after Noah's flood the rainbow gained meaning as the sign of God's promise that terrestrial life would never again be destroyed by flood.

The rainbow has a place in legend because of its beauty and the historical difficulty in explaining the phenomenon. It symbolizes good news, hope, redemption and the ending of gloom. Since the sun can be a symbol of the self, the rainbow is also associated with the magical quest for the treasure of self-knowledge. The rainbow is a bridge between heaven and earth, between your earthly self and your higher enlightened self.

In New Age and Hindu philosophies, the seven colors of the rainbow represent the seven chakras, from the first chakra (red) to the seventh chakra (violet).
