Justice/The Emperor. Wow, strong Major Arcana Cards! Justice is a card of adjustment, and it corresponds
with the element of Air (hot/separates and wet/adapts, and quick, animated
energy that usually brings problems or challenges that bring growth), Libra
(“we are,” partnerships, balance, cooperation), Lamed (ox goad; training or
teaching), and the Path between Tiphareth (the hub of the creation process
where energies harmonize and focus to illuminate and clarify) and Geburah (the
place where forms and structures are challenged or affirmed). This is a card that represents fairness
and equality, and achieves those things through the application of truth. It is a card of karma, but it is also a
card of good intentions, and that is very important. The Emperor corresponds with Fire
(hot/separates and dry/shapes, and spontaneous, impulsive, energetic change),
Aries (“I want,” action oriented, assertive, competitive) and the Hebrew letter
Heh (window, illumination), and represents confidence and authority. In the Tarot Major Arcana, The Emperor represents
both depth and stability; he actively seeks balance by imposing order on his
world. He is the personification of tough love! And we can’t kid ourselves; he is also about victory; after
all, that’s how he ascended to his throne. Both of these cards together do indeed have a powerful
message: authority comes with responsibility, and I’ve got to be always mindful
of my own thoughts, words and actions if I want to lead in a fair and ethical
and effective way.
My Thoth card is The Moon. The Moon corresponds with Water
(cold/binds and wet/adapts, emotional and sensitive energy that strives to stay
the same), Pisces (“I believe,” feeling, suffering, soul growth, duality), Qof
(the back of the head), and the Path between Malkuth (the physical world of
action and physical, outer reality) and Netzach (the stimulating factors of
emotion and inspiration), is about feelings and emotions and instincts and the
subconscious, and the sometimes difficult to understand messages these things
send to us. The Moon can also be
about change, and it can be about the way we sometimes see change as a
threat. The Moon can also be
indicating that an important change is coming, and we should not only trust our
physical senses, or our non-physical senses.
My Legacy card is Justice reversed,
flavored by The Devil.
Bookends! And five Major
Arcana cards! I don’t remember
ever throwing five Majors. If the
upright Justice card is about fairness and equality, all achieved through the
application of truth, then the reversed Justice card could be telling of a lack
of integrity, an avoidance of the truth or a refusal to accept the truth, or a
shirking of responsibility.
However, not receiving justice can certainly end up acting as a catalyst
to bring change. The Devil (Earth (cold/binds and dry/shapes, and stable,
material, practical energies that are slow to change), Capricorn (“I build,”
ambitious, competent, cautious, cunning), Ayin (the eye, senses), and the Path
between Hod (which provides analysis and communication) and Tipareth (the hub
of the creation process where energies harmonize and focus to illuminate and
clarify) tells of being caught up in the physical world and the effects of the
physical senses to the point of being bound to those things. Since my Devil is flavoring my reversed
Justice, this imbalance could very well be what could cause us to not want to
acknowledge the truth. Better to
enjoy the physical world and all of its pleasures than to be responsible,
eh? Well, that won’t bring a happy
ending.
More on my Bookends card,
Justice. In the end, Justice is
about balance, the balance that is brought by an objective consideration of a
situation and of the consequences of possible responses. Justice brings equity and equality,
fairness for all. This means that
none of us win, but none of us lose, either. Justice corresponds with the element of Air, and thus with
the intellect and with challenges that offer growth; usually that growth is not
comfortable to achieve, but in the end there is some reward for our
effort. There is Justice. Justice corresponds with the
Astrological sign of Libra, the sign of partnerships and cooperation; more
balance. I mentioned above that
Justice is also a card of good intentions; even if things end up going to hell,
if our intentions are good, really and truly good, we can lessen the karmic
impact of an event that has gone bad.
Many images on this card offer the concept of Divine Justice rather than
blind Justice; either concept is important to consider. But we humans usually need that
blindfold in order to remain objective.
Justice is achieved through negotiations, through deliberation, and
through the use of the intellect. And we can’t forget patience; we often need
patience in order to see things to the end, and then we will see Justice
imposed. Justice reversed can
involve bigotry, prejudgment, intolerance, or false accusations. Abuse and corruption fall under the
umbrella of a reversed Justice card, as does cowardice, and giving in to
popular beliefs even though we know they are false, unethical or
dangerous. Justice can be a
fragile thing, usually temporary in nature, but it is valuable.
My 6-digit date number is 7, the number
that tells of a pause that comes as growth slows and degeneration approaches,
usually offering a crossroad or choice.
My horoscopes: “Have you been spending too much lately, Sagittarius? Today you
could be feeling the effects of it. You may have to wait to make a purchase
that you've wanted for a long time, and this could be frustrating. Don't worry
about it, though. You will get through this unscathed, and the item will still
be in the store when you have money again. Relax.”
And: “Someone
who may be something of a local celebrity might be suddenly attracted to you,
though at this point neither one of you is likely to be inclined to pursue it.
Don't expect much from this person beyond conversation at this time - although
this in itself should be very stimulating right now. However, the energy should
be strong enough to last past the day, so don't be too shy to exchange names
and phone numbers.”
My Shadowscapes Insight is regarding the
Five of Wands. Sometimes the world
tosses handfuls of obstacles at us, obstacles of all sizes and shapes and
intensity. They bounce with no
pattern; some of them pass us by, but others smack into us at all angles. These unpredictable yet minor obstacles
can seem insurmountable, but only when taken as a whole. Individually, they are all small
things, easily dealt with. So we
need to gather ourselves, and then take them all on.
Another hugely busy day. Here it is, 11:30 pm, and I am just getting
my Tarot stuff up. Sheesh. Tomorrow, relax? **crosses fingers**
