Transparent Oracle Sunday!

21, Gateway: Autumn (West). West is the direction of Water, and thus, of feelings and emotions, relationships of all kinds, cleansing and healing, the wisdom associated with natural endings, and the bubbling up of pure joy.  Autumn is a time of reaping the fruits of our labors and of acknowledging the gifts and influences of those who have come before us.  Autumn is also a time of shifting awareness, shifting away from all that is outer and active and brightly lit and towards all that is inner and passive and in the shadows.  The Veil Between The Worlds begins to thin, and messages may appear.

45, Mars (Above).  The direction of Above takes us up and out of the four traditional elements of Air, Fire, Water and Earth, and reminds us that we are but a small part of the Cosmos.  Above also reminds us that while the Machinery of the Universe is huge, it does have an effect on each of us, and each of us is an important part of the workings of that Machinery. Mars is about drive and energy and passion; it is also about striving to do things our own way, about conquest, power and aggression.  Mars can bring sexual tension, often infused with domination or submission, as well as fiery tempers.  Since Mars is connected to the element of Fire, all the traits of this planet can bring transformation.

13, Element: Fire (South). South is the direction of the midday sun and the peak of power and illumination; this direction is associated with passionate drive and creativity.  Fire has often been used as a representation of Spirit or the Divine, and this makes sense.  Fire brings transformation, animation or life, courage, and intent.  Fire has its dangers, though; it brings transformation through destruction that brings new birth.

I then stacked my cards and created my mandala.  What a beautiful image!!  The bounty and harvest of Autumn surrounds the triangle and flames of Fire, and right in the middle of the Fiery triangle is the symbol for Mars.  The image of the planet itself is circling on top of the Autumn Gateway, supporting it and energizing it.  All the pieces of this mandala fit together perfectly!  And the message is clear: while the time of harvest often tells of a slowing down of the processes of existence, that slowdown needs to be prevented.  The transformation being hinted at begins within me, in my Fiery core and my solar plexus chakra, home of the Will.  I need to remember that this transformation will probably involve destruction of some kind, but I will be able to make it through that destruction and move toward resurrection and new birth.
