Transparent
Oracle Sunday!
39, Guide: Wolf (North). Wolves are seen by many as dangerous,
even evil, but we should always keep in mind when we are working with Wolf that
he is the ancestor of the dogs we humans love so much. Wolf has a strong sense of family, and
of rank within that family. Wolf
can communicate over great distances, and has the stamina to travel those
distances in the first place. Wolf
has keen instincts, and a strong urge to protect his territory.
50, Polarity: White Dragon (Above). The direction of Above takes us up and out
of the four traditional elements of Air, Fire, Water and Earth, and reminds us
that we are but a small part of the Cosmos. Above also reminds us that while the Machinery of the
Universe is huge, it does have an effect on each of us, and each of us is an
important part of the workings of that Machinery. The White Dragon represents masculine, dispassionate,
celestial energies that come into us and into our world from “Above.” If you see the solar system and the
universe as being alive, and as being filled with the manifestations of the
Sacred Essences that are the source of life and awareness, then these energies
are very important. We are the
Microcosm, after all, and these energies are from the polar opposite, the
Macrocosm . . . filled with information, knowledge and wisdom
45, Mars (Above). Mars is about drive and energy and passion; it is also
about striving to do things our own way, about conquest, power and
aggression. Mars can bring sexual
tension, often infused with domination or submission, as well as fiery tempers. Since Mars is connected to the element
of Fire, all the traits of this planet can bring transformation.
I then stacked my cards and created my mandala. Mars seems to be emanating from Wolf, and that makes
sense. Dominatin and submission
are a part of the wolf pack, and provong oneself able to be the Alpha is no small
accomplishment. Sexual tension is
also a part of the wolf pack, and in order to mate and reproduce, the Alpha
must be strong, and skilled at surviving and at caring for those who require
protecting and nurturing. The Whie
Dragon also represents this concept of Alpha, or of outer, active male essences
that are the catalyst of life. It appears that the big picture is important
now, as are actions, and consequences.
We had
a short weekend in Cape May this Labor Day because we have work, and that is a
good thing. We had company for
dinner both nights, but no overnight guests. I spent the day taking pictures of my flowers.
We came
home today, and imagine our delight when The Hubs and I went out to take a
quick, refreshing swim in our landlord’s pool, and found that neighbors were
having a picnic, with live music!
We took a quick swim and then sat with a glass of wine, listening to a
playlist that we would have chosen ourselves. Reward for putting the nose to the grindstone? Cool.
