Transparent
Oracle Sunday!
29, Guide:
Turtle (West). West is the
direction of Water, and thus, of feelings and emotions, relationships of all
kinds, cleansing and healing, the wisdom associated with natural endings, and
the bubbling up of pure joy. Water
is Turtle’s environment, but not only Water, for like Otter, many Turtles are
at home on Earth (and in fact, Turtles lay their eggs on Earth). Turtle offers us an opportunity to learn about protection; not the
kind of protection that shuts out the world but rather, the kind of protection
that allows us to dive deep and explore the unknown without fear. Turtle is also slow and steady, is
patient, and endures; Turtle has a long lifespan, and has existed relatively
unchanged since ancient times.
Turtle’s shell shows us how to exist in spite of the churning eddies of
life, without being affected by them.
After all, she is able to safely travel between the worlds because she
is well-protected.
52, Guide: Ancestors/Dark Goddess
(Below). The direction of
Below is not easily associated with spirituality, yet it is a powerful symbol
representing the opportunity to create a strong foundation, and to connect to
the tools and powers of the Underworld.
This card is about the ancestors who
came before us, but it is also about the Goddess of the Underworld, and to
some, it is about Hecate, the Triple Goddess of the Crossroads. This card can
be about death, but it can also be about renewal. Our personal history, where we’ve gone and what we’ve
learned, helps us to make choices in the future. This card is telling me these things are important.
51, Gateway: The World Tree (Below). Another Below card. The World Tree is a powerful symbol in many cultures;
in Wicca, the Tree is seen as representing the cast circle, and it is seen as a
gateway to the Underworld. The
World Tree is about initiation of the most exciting kind; it tells of the
ability to tap into the knowledge and wisdom that is a part of me through my
ancestors, and it tells of the ability to connect with non-physical beings.
I then stacked my cards and
created my mandala. Turtle faces
outward, and Ancestors/Dark Goddess faces inward. Although the Ancestors/Dark Goddess images are on top of
Turtle, it certainly appears as if Turtle is guarding the Ancestors/Dark
Goddess. It is interesting to me
that Ancestors/Dark Goddess appears the day after I do some Shadow Work on the
last day of the Dark Moon of the second New Moon of the month. Perhaps I am being told that the
messages I received are important.
Add to all of this the World Tree, and we have an even stronger focus on
the Underworld and the Shadow, all seen via a Gateway that is the cast circle
and sacred space. Looking inward
is important, and it can only be accomplished with positive results if I make
certain that I prepare for that inward voyage, and if I make certain that I
create a safe place for my physical self while I am traveling. I know how to do this.
Doing a bit of re-connect
with Kali, my Dark Goddess, these days.
I am being reminded by Her of what is important, what I need as opposed
to what I want. Perfect timing,
because my roll at PaganPages.Org is about to expand. I will be writing a review for a Tarot deck and a Tarot book
for next month’s magazine! LOL,
fame . . . .
Today is Imbolc, and as I
go through my day I will be welcoming the return of the Light and the Sun on
this first day of Spring.
Interesting that I am doing dark work on this Sabbat, but on second
thought, this day that focuses on the Light is a great day to understand the
opposite of Light.
Imbolc
Blessings!
