And it is Sunday again already,
must be Transparent Oracle Sunday!
20, Elemental: Salamander (South). South is the direction of the midday sun
and the peak of power and illumination; this direction is associated with
passionate drive and creativity. Salamander is also intense in
personality, but this one is about consumption of fuel, and the changes and
transformations that happen through consumption of fuel. The changes presented by Salamander are
more transmutation than transformation or metamorphosis. Salamanders are actually known for
putting out fires! This is because
they consume all fuel and then the flames themselves. They are true experts, and know just how to handle Fire and
its tricky nature.
33, Element: Earth (North). Earth represents stable, material,
practical energies that are slow to change; its dignities are cold/binds and
dry/shapes. Earth is the element of form and substance; it is connected to
physical health, to material world security (and even wealth), and to our
physical bodies and physical senses, and the pleasures and pains they bring. Earth represents the fertile, nurturing
and serene side of Nature, and it represents the tangible end result of our
labors.
15, Landscape: Desert (South). South is the direction of the midday sun
and the peak of power and illumination; this direction is associated with
passionate drive and creativity.
Desert represents an extreme environment that upon initial examination
seems to preclude life; actually this Landscape just challenges life, severely,
but if we see that challenge as a chance to test our endurance and our ability
to adapt to difficult situations, we will prosper.
I then stacked my cards and
created my mandala. This one is a
bit deceptive at first glance, but then not so much. The Salamanders are dancing in concert with the leaves on
the Earth symbol, the perfect combination of catalyst and fertility. This beautiful orange and green glyph
is surrounded by Desert, and this really does make sense. Desert is an extreme environment and
its landscape appears lifeless. In
reality, life is hidden amidst the sand and heat, and although living that life
is usually a challenge, it can be done.
There is beauty to be found in the Desert, and the end result of
attempting to exist there can be good.
Full Moon Blessings!
